A Plan for One Small Trip
So far so good. We've drastically reduced our spending lately by doing things like cancelling cable, reducing eating out, getting any debt paid off as we can. We're getting there, and getting ready for the trip.
We've been talking about it more recently, as it's coming up in less than a year so we have a little bit of planning to do. We like to say "we're not going to plan anything for this trip" and do it completely off the whim, but this will be a little hard for budgetary reasons. If we were millionaires then maybe we could just boat/fly whatever across the pond and roam. But, sometimes as much as we don't want to admit it, there is a "Real world" out there and we have to get some things done.
In our recent travels over the internet researching our trip we found out a couple of interesting facts about traveling which we'll share with you as we go along.
With our recent talk about our trip, we're thinking of something like this, however it will almost certainly change;
- Fly from Ottawa to Frankfurt
- Tour a bit
- Head Towards St Petersberg
- Get on the Trans-Siberia-Express
- Head to China
- Tour
- Head to Japan
- Tour
- Head to Vietnam
- Tour
- Head to Laos
- Tour
- Head to Thailand
- Tour
- Head to Burma/Myanmar
- Head to Singapore
- Head to India
- Hit up Hyderabad
- Hit up Chennai
- Hit up Dubai
- Hit up London
- Come back to Canada
No idea how long this will take, but we are planning on a year if we can do it at all with the help of donations, us saving our butts off, and then selling almost all our belongings before we leave on the trip.
