I know this is old advice, but some people still don’t know that you can contact your Credit Card company and request to be moved to a new card with a lower interest rate.

Since we’re planning a longish excursion next year we’ve been cutting back a lot on what we’re spending, and especially watching the impulse purchases. One thing that was contributing to our impulse buy’s was television. You may not realize it, but with so many product placements, jingles, ads, etc you remember much more than your concious mind realizes. And soon driving down the street is “oh yeah, I wanted to try that new burger from such and such, or I wanted to rent that new movie”.
